Affiliate Disclosure

Some links on Half Cent Hoop are affiliate links. This page explains what that means and how we handle them.

What affiliate links are

When an article links to a retailer and you buy something through that link, the retailer may pay us a small commission. You pay nothing extra — the price is the same whether you use our link or go to the store directly.

Because our readers shop in two countries, gear articles may carry separate purchase links for the United States and for Japan. Either kind of link may be an affiliate link.

How you can tell

Articles that contain affiliate links show a disclosure notice before the first such link, and product purchase buttons are labeled as affiliate links. We also mark these links for search engines as sponsored.

What it does not change

Commissions never decide what we recommend. Products are chosen and judged on their merits under the standards described in our How We Test policy, and we point out limitations even when an affiliate link sits next to them. If a product is not worth buying, we say so — linked or not.

Questions

If anything about our use of affiliate links is unclear, contact us and we will explain how a specific link works.
