Not Every Day Goes as Planned
Today’s training looked simple: 30 push-ups and a trip to the gym for practice 2 hours with my town’s 35+ league that just kicked off.
I had originally planned to do a bit more, but work (and life) got in the way. And you know what? That’s fine. Some days, the schedule wins. The important part is to keep doing something, instead of letting a busy day turn into an excuse for nothing at all.
League Practice > Solo Grind
Practicing with the league might not feel like “training” in the strictest sense, but scrimmaging, running the court, and competing against other players is its own kind of conditioning. It’s also a reminder that basketball is supposed to be fun.
Push-ups Still Count
Even with limited time, I knocked out 30 push-ups to keep the streak alive. Small consistency > huge but unsustainable efforts.
Next Step: Measuring My Jump
Tomorrow (or maybe tonight, if I can sneak it in), I’m planning to measure my current vertical. It’ll give me a baseline — not to obsess over, but to mark where I’m starting from. If I want to see progress, I need numbers, even if they’re humbling right now.
Day 2 wasn’t perfect. It wasn’t even close to what I imagined. But that’s okay. The bigger goal isn’t a “perfect workout log” — it’s building the habit and keeping my body in motion. On that score, I’ll take today as a win.
